I used to be overly kind and empathetic. I am not so trusting these days and I now usually treat people as they treat me. I think we harden our hearts a little the older we get and the more of life’s hardships we have been exposed to.

In some ways I’m kind, and in other ways I’m kind of mean. Mostly I’m kind. But there is a difference between being kind and letting people walk on you. I can let people walk on me too. There was this guy here who I “loaned” $40. He paid me back $10. And he stole my computer. In that case I just gave somebody money who didn’t deserve kindness.

I try to be kind. I’m very empathetic, and I think that can be a bad thing sometimes. It’s my favorite attribute, but it leaves me overly sensitive.

Also, I dont think I’m very attractive.

Well, officially I was 9 years old by 1970 and my only actual credentials for being a hippie was I had long hair in fourth grade.

A much higher percent of people considered themselves to be kind than good looking and a lot more people cared to judge their looks than their kindness. We’re all wrapped up in our outsides aren’t we in a way but we make sure we have good insides too.
