My former case manager said I was high functioning for a person with schizophrenia and don’t really need a case manager. How about you?
I am treatment resistant apparently. Screw them
Sorry to hear that @Joker. Hopefully something helps eventually.
Yes, I am high functioning for a person with schizoaffective disorder.
I’ve been experiencing psychotic and mood symptoms since I was 15, though I didn’t have my first full-on psychotic break until 23, as a med student, forced me to drop out. I’m not high enough functioning for med school. Other than my one year of med school I’ve working since I was 16, no other choice but to do so.
Thanks @freakonaleash Not everyone who’s normal even can handle Medical School. At least you tried and found out, instead of wondering the rest of your life. I dropped out of regular college because I couldn’t handle it, much less medical school.
I am medium high functioning.
Thanks @Yellowdiamond that’s interesting to hear.
I am not sure but I barely see a psychiatrist once every two years or as and when needed.
Eh. Maybe ?

I was doing pretty good not seeing the psychiatrist too, until my rheumatologist gave me a shot of steroids that interacted with the Abilify I take. My hip felt better but I was Goofy for a while.
Thanks @anon57786250 @anon25873142
I’m pretty high functioning. My therapist has talked about discharging me to my primary for care. We just talked about the residual and breakthrough symptoms last week, so that discharge has been tabled for now.
I’m glad to hear that @anon4362788. I’m going to have to check in with my psychiatrist every now and then for my antidepressant and AP. Other than that I’m doing fine right now.
I am relatively high functioning. My thoughts are clear and i reason logically. I went to a support group and was much more normal than everyone there
I have studied and volunteered but I will only call me high functioning if I’m able to work part-time.
Soon we’ll know.
I can function well with how my life is now because there’s no stress but I don’t think I could hold down a job if I had to.
Thanks guys @pasteyface @anon21849028 @TheFountainPen
I see a pdoc, F2F or virtually, once a year. When it comes to day to day functioning that has more to do with the ASD than the sz. I struggle with manual/practical/technical tasks.
On the other hand I’ve been told :
Balancing things out I’d place myself in the middle.
Thanks @firemonkey
My official diagnosis is schizoaffective depressive type with good prognostic features. I am pretty high functioning with the occasional set back. I do have a graduate degree which I happened to get while dealing with my illness.
