Are you any good at

In middle school I was very good at art, but decided I liked music better so I dumped art for music. Then, I dumped music for writing.

This is a painting I did a while back  art is my life I love it

Wow @Drawingtocope, I’m kinda blown away by this painting, these birds hold a special place in my heart because as a kid, we’d go to the zoo and they were everywhere, with swans and pink flamingos too!! :relaxed:

My Dad is an art teacher… I’ve never been that great at drawing… I was more for ceramics. I miss it…

I got out of the habit… my older stuff was very dark to reflect my dark frame of mind… I ended up smashing a lot of it… it wasn’t helping me get better.

Now that I’m in a more positive mind set… I feel more creative… I’ve been thinking that by the end of this year… I’m gong to try and find a ceramics studio that isn’t costing an arm and a leg.

I’m not good at drawing or painting, but I do enjoy painting. I’m fairly decent with photography. But my main art is I play guitar, write songs and sing. I’m a pretty good singer.

I like to draw things I see in the stucco /texture on the walls …unique creatures show themselves to me that remind me of the bar scene in the first ā€œStar Warsā€ movie.

In 2007 I found taking pictures with my iPhone at night of our F250 Dash with all the colorful lights made me stupid happy for months, and still does every time I come across them again.

I love, love, loved my ā€œCircle Monsterā€ that I created out of leftover scraps of aluminum and rubber, riveting it all together while bored in our hanger waiting for the ex to finish a project on the plane…that monster hung in my room for years…it was such a happy little guy.

I still imagine all the neat things I’d like to make with all the shiny bits of metal I find on the ground, and put it all together with the other stuff I take off things others have discarded…but,
those days are gone since I spend too much time trying to organize it all back to that state of stupid happy I knew in a room full of my favorite things.

But the question was, ā€œAre you any good atā€

and I’d be pretty sure the answer would be no.

I’ve been told all my life that Mom was the artist in the family-not me, and yes she was, and good too…but did it have to be limited to one per family?
Even my high school art teacher praised my mom who took evening art classes with him, and made sure everyone in the same room knew that ā€œI sure didn’t take after herā€

So poop in everyone butt, I call it art and I like it and if someone else would like to share the pleasure art gives, then that’s all I care about.
Good thing too, because if I did it for work, I’d starve.
