Hi. Are you allowed to drive a car in your country if you take certain antipsychotics? In my country there is a new law that forbids people who take antipschotics like clozapine, Seroquel, ziprasidone, haloperiedol to drive a car. You are allowed to take olanzapine and aripiprazole. Best regards.
You can drive in my state if you’ve been stable for 6 months.
I have been driving for nearly four decades without an at fault accident yet. I am stable enough that I am licensed to drive large commercial vehicles and passenger buses.
What meds do you take?
For psych meds I take Vraylar and Wellbutrin.
That is OK. With these meds you would be allowed to drive.
Yeah here in australia i can. The topic of being safe to drive has never come up with pdocs or anyone. I havent had a car for like a year and a half now though. Which sucks. Been riding and walking and bussing everywhere.
Yes I am.
I’ve been driving for almost 2 decades without any accidents.
Never heard of that law before.
yes. 1511515111551
have a perfect driving record and take generic prolixin…fluphenazine.
Because my disease is classified as depression, I am not prohibited from driving. And yes, I drive without pushing the pedals because I have a disability
no, we drive very fast, but electric bikes do
Yes we are allowed if we’re in a remission.
Here you need to be reviewed by a medical committee and get reviewed every couple of years.
my pdoc told me not to drive anymore. so i don’t do it.
Yes. It’s Australia and having a psychiatric disability isn’t an issue. I drive well and did it as a living as a vehicle accessory fitter back in the day. I parked cars and trucks, buses and even tractors. I am a defensive driver on the roads but being sz isn’t a problem and it really shouldn’t be unless you’ve ideation…
I have my license and have to fill in a yearly exam from my doc because I told them I had schizophrenia a long time ago…
Unfortunately I’ve never owned a car, as my parents are against it (they say it’s too expensive with maintenance and insurance), and you can get anywhere in the city by public transit and I live near all the essential stores!
