I loved this game as a kid. I’ve played almost all of the Mario games, Including the original NES games.
I remember this part for some reason scared me as a little kid (start at 0:28)

Yeah I got all the stars as a kid it took me awhile. First Mario game my mom showed any interest in as well.
I got all the stars and beat the nintendo ds version
My dad wasn’t into video games (he was 30 or so at the time) but he thought the concept of a video game was cool. He would like to watch me play lol

Yes. It was a great game. 
I got scared of the sea creatures in this game
i remember it. making him “hump” the top of the flag poll was so funny
