Anyone remember American Girl Dolls? Those things are worth money now

I have the whole collection.

Of course, including the original four.

All in their cases.

They scare the ■■■■ out of me.

Everyone just assumed one day I wanted to collect dolls and started gifting me them.

I always hated them and could feel their little glass eyes following me around my room.

Put them in storage first chance I got.

Now I want to sell them but my mother says they’ll increase in value and to hold on to them.

Do you guys remember these dolls?

Any opinions?

Yeah. I love those dolls. They don’t scare me. I’m trying to get my moms who passed away from my sister. One I gave to her for Christmas. She loved dolls.

The Samantha doll alone is worth $5,000-$7,000.

I wonder if they’ll increase in value or if I should cash in.

$7000 for a doll is beyond me!

Me too.

Considering they were like $60 a pop back in the 90s.

A lot of money for a doll back then,

But apparently worth it.

Hmmm for some reason I don’t remember these dolls.

I do remember beanie babies though and when people were acting like cavemen towards each other when it came to buying them. :joy:

We drove through a literal hurricane to get special beanie babies once.

My mom really thought that ■■■■ was going to put us though college.

We were wrong.

Holy ■■■■! A fricken hurricane?! That’s crazy amiga. :joy:

Yeah, I think there was a point where they were pretty hot on eBay, but I think they made so many that the value just dropped. Mass production and demand and all.

I would guess the peak of their value, beyond just being vintage collectors items as time goes on, is right now when all the parents our age are that he up obsessing over them after trying to also convince their kids to want them.

My mother-in-law thought the same. Finally last year she gave my wife a big box with all of them for little LED and now we use them as random you did a good thing surprises and she immediately cuts the tags off and I just imagine my mil’s horror every time hahaha

That literally made me cringe.

Well, it’s good the beanie babies are doing something to help out!

God knows they’re not what our mother’s thought they would be.

I say sell them before the bubble collapses.

We had a ton of Star Wars figures that were worth quite a bit. Thousands of dollars. But hubby ended up passing them to the kids.

I’m agreeing with people that are saying sell now.

I think this is peak value.

All the girls that collected these dolls are my age now and feeling nostalgic.

And apparently have 7K to drop on a doll.
