I’ve not tried Prozac. Seroxat is the antidepressant that worked best for me

So it’s safe to take ssris with AP? I’m worried about serotonin syndrome.
When I first started seroxat I was on small dose of stelazine so I went quite high but with other antipsychotics olanzapine, risperdal, Amisulpiride and clozapine I didn’t have that

I was on prozac in the past and it worked well
Actually I might go back on it lol I take Sertraline for some years now
As for serotonin syndrome, it can be possible but if you start to get any bad symptoms you can just stop taking the SSRI immediately and see doctor
A LOT of us on this board are on AP AND SSRI…some actually on 2 different APs too

I have a headache. She said vomiting upset stomach and headaches were side effects. They should go away after a couple of weeks.
Yes, the start up side effects fade after a few days.
I saw on the say anything thread that you’re on both Prozac and Lamictal.
That’s my combination as well (with Risperidone). We are finalizing my Lamictal dose, but Prozac is set at 60 mg. I’m sza bipolar and 80 mg made me manic, so 60 it is.
When we raised the Prozac from 40 to 60, my balance was thrown off with the Lamictal and it needed raising too. Started Prozac 60 on Dec 4, so that increase is just settling in now.
YMMV, but you may end up needing to bump your Lamictal up to match the Prozac. Only you and your pdoc can determine that. I can’t remember if you’re sz or sza, but that’ll make a difference.
Good luck with it! It works well for me…as long as it’s balanced correctly with my lamictal. You know from the say anything thread that i have been locked in near total blackness since early December during the tinkering phase, but it’s lifting again!

Yeah before I was properly diagnosed it caused severe mania in me I could go off of meds and still not even get as manic tbh

Ive been taking AD’s and AP’s together for years. One works on mainly serotonin and the other mainly works on dopamine.

I’ve tried it before and it wasn’t for me. I’m on an SNRI now. I had long lasting effects from the prozac. I was not a happy camper, I hope it works for you so I won’t describe what was wrong.

Day 2 no headache but I’m on a child’s dose 10mg
I take 60mg a day. I think it helps both my anxiety and my obsessional symptoms

Dry mouth I think. But a lot of psych meds do that I have heard
