I tried anti-depressants for anxiety twice and they made my symptoms worse so they stopped prescribing them.

anyone is taking antidepressant at first and then antipsychotics? i do think my psychosis is antidepresant induced /at the very beginning before taking antidepressant and then been through withdrawl i hv never considered myself having psychosis symptoms, but now i realized

I was first prescribed Venlafaxine (Effexor) for clinical depression, which I still take.

The anti-psychotics I took in the past include Risperidal, Olanzapine and Aripiprazole. I’m now taking Quetiapine and Amisulpride. The mix really works for me, although the dosage of Amisulpride had to be greatly increased to blunt the edge of my psychotic symptoms.

If I didn’t have the medications I’d be very, very ill.

me2, i am from depression to schizophrenia but i very much doubt that my psychosis is induced by the attempt to stop taking antidepressant after taking it for long time

I don’t know about that, sorry. Some might say that depression is a symptom of schizophrenia. In which case I have been coping with schizophrenia since I was a kid. And I think schizophrenia is rare in kids.

Also, I could have been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder (depressive type). But, I was labeled with paranoid schizophrenia. The lines are very blurred in mental illness. I am sure there are many, many people who have been misdiagnosed.

I take sertraline (Zoloft) it has helped me. I am starting work/course next month dog grooming and hope to set up my own buisness this year. I think without my current medication combination I wouldn’t be able to do that. And of course my family and dog.

I take cymbalta. Not sure why it was my first AD. my doctor said because I have damage in the locus coeruleus. I believe cymbalta works on norepinephrine too.

Wellbutrin. I become suicidal within a few days without it.

I take mirtazapine 45mg at night.

I take it as well, doesn’t do much.
Made me a lot less irritable though.
Don’t care for the sexual side effects either.
Think I will ask for Lexapro again or maybe no ad at all.

A large dose of Effexor Xr. Tried a lot of antidepressants and it’s the one that works best. Went off it for a while and came back to it. Wasn’t as effective so now I take 300mgs daily. I suffer from major depression and schizophrenia.

They won’t give me effexor. I guess it’s like wellbutrin but stronger? My friend took it for years for adhd or bipolar or depression or something. He liked it. Said it was addictive though and got off of it.

I am on Zyprexa (Olanzapine) 20 mg and now Remeron (mirtazapine) 7.5 mg. On the Remeron I believe I am getting a deeper more restful night of sleep, and I have a slight improvement in my awakening in the morning. I think my depression has improved too.

I take Zoloft in addition to my Vraylar and Lamictal. :slight_smile:
