I love my R/C Sailboat and I had the buggies and such and helicopters plus the airplanes. Mostly nitro powered but the batteries too.
Wasn’t too bad at the airplanes but I crashed here and there.

When I was a kid, I really wanted one of those, especially a helicopter , but I was too young to get it. Then it never happened.
I liked them - but they were always a pipe dream due to cost.
Can they be controlled by phone and Bluetooth now or is RC better.
It doesn’t have to be expensive. Get a mini dual rotor model that can be flown inside so you will get practice. You can upgrade eventually.
I’ve a 1/16th scale rc german tiger tank. It has a plastic bb firing mechanism and actually shoots. It’s a bit of fun and you can buy upgrades for it. It also has sound.
Those are coming into play too. I prefer the r/c transmitter for the physical feeling of moving the control sticks.
I would love to fly a kite again nice and high like when i was a kid in the main park I had a batman kite and it only flew for a short time before getting tangled but I loved it, I tried to fly a kite when I was on holiday in st ives on the white cliffs, the weather was really windy but the kite i bought was a piece of crap and it spoiled it for me so that is a dream of mine to fly a kite of some sort and have fun with it.
If I had some money I’d get a drone with a built in camera but those are expensive and I’d need to be careful with it.
I fly quad-line kites plus the two line kind. Kites rock!
Check out the Chinese market. The tank I got is a cheap Chinese version and it’s like 1/6th the price of a good Tamiya model. Yeah it’s not the same quality but it’s serviceable and still a fun little toy. Have a look on ebay and the usual places. You might be surprised.
Remote control models… is that similar to a mail order bride?
