Has anyone here overcome ADHD with or without meds?
I’ve got some bad ADHD, it won’t allow me to work for more than 10-20 mins at a stretch
without being distracted.

I used to take Adderall for mine and it worked really well, but my current pdoc doesn’t prescribe stimulants as a practice. So I have to go without. It causes me a lot of problems.
One of the main reasons I’m thinking about finding a new doctor.
Can a GP prescribe it perhaps?
Mine wouldn’t. All psych meds go through the psychiatrist.
I’m going to get L-Tyrosine (an amino acid) for focus. That produces dopamine and norepinephrine, which are responsible for the stress tolerance that Ritalin gives a person.
I don’t think my pdoc is going to prescribe Ritalin, plus there are other risks to it. The natural, amino acid route seems more ideal.
It’s supposedly good to combine that with 5-HTP for anxiety / depression. I don’t feel that depressed, but my anxiety is pretty bad, so maybe I’ll get that too. That is tryptophan though, so it might worsen symptoms by increasing Kynurenic acid formation. Hopefully my treatment has reduced voices enough that this won’t be an issue.
Stimulants are bad news for me.
My psychiatrist refuses to prescribe them for me.
She said they would instantly make me psychotic.
I take both Concerta and Ritalin but also have been diagnosed with ADD. It helps me tremendously but I would caution anyone not properly diagnosed from taking the medication. It is methylphenidate as has been mentioned previously. While it works on my neurochemistry to actually calm my brain down and help me focus, it is a stimulant and someone without ADD should not take it.
I take evekeo (amphetamine sulfate), it’s iight
I used to be prescribed adderal for negs and focus/energy, but i switched to vyvanse (40mg). It helps me somewhat, but without it I feel alot of brain fog and ambiguousness.
Yea i use to do really well on adderall but i dont even feel amps anymore bc of the neg symptoms
