I am a fond fan of all things Steampunk. This Friday I am going to go to the big steampunk convention in our area. All my stuff is self-made, and I am super excited to show it off.
I’m thinking of posting a picture of the full outfit. So far, I think it looks pretty cool. However, my mother saw me and started laughing so hard. I think that is a sign that I have been successful. XD
I wanna see. I wanna see.
Well, you can’t say I didn’t warn you. Let the Steampunkary commence!

As you can see, I am cheerful as always…XD
But I really do love steampunk. Once, I went out running errands dressed in full steampunk attire. It was an interesting day. I am probably in the “people of walmart” pictures somewhere XD jk.
that is cool well done!
Holey moley that’s so frikin cool Lol.
Your expression fits the outfit. Looks good to me!
Seriously sweet.
So cool sharp!

Why thank you very much.
I spent many a hour ripping apart broken pieces of circuitry, raiding hardware shops for
copper wire, and leather crafting(not the artistic type though D:). I actually sprained my wrist earlier this week trying to retrieve the wires and metal from an old fan with a hammer. I know, not the smartest idea… buuuut I got the wires out at least :3.
Thanks for sharing. Seeing this brightens up my night somehow.
On another note, if my mom seen me wearing something like this she would actually like it.
I would so love to wear something like this all day just for a day too XD
What exactly is Steampunk? I’ve come across that before, but I don’t know what it is. What is the philosophy behind Steampunk?
I’m a fan of Steampunk. I’m pushing fifty, so I’m a bit old for cosplay, but my 14-year-old daughter alternately dresses in SP attire or Dr. Who paraphernalia. Besides, that’s $$$ I could spend on upgrading my archery kit.

No one is to old to Steampunk :).
I meant to answer this earlier D:. Okay, so Steampunk is a genre of science fiction. Basically, back in the Victorian era, authors began writing stories of what they believed the future would be like.
Due to the new steam powered technology, the believed we would take steam and electronics much farther than we actually did. This kind of science fiction is mainly inspired by 19th century styles and machines.
Hope that helped!
Your outfit looks really cool
Yes, it did help. I learned something this morning. I was always curious about that.
thats purdy gosh darn kewl… good job
I thought it was some variant of a retro movement… cool to see its historically grounded…
the ■■■■does look cool though…
like the movement… but I’m all electronic…
I still watch steampunk anime and read steampunk novels. Here’s a current series I just finished:
The problem is that dressing up loses it’s appeal once you’ve developed, er, “middle-aged spread”. Cosplay works better for skinny youngsters, just sayin’.
I do make a point of wearing a bowler hat whenever I’m out and about because, style.

I really like you @Sharp…
