I get mine delivered. I don’t drive so its a hassle going to get it and walking back with it. Plus I find it easier to chose what to buy on the computer than in person.
I live in the city and there are several supermarkets just around the corner. Besides, walking does me good and I get to smile and say hello to the cashiers.
I go to the Supermarket and usually go in the self-checkout line or if its isn’t too busy I go through a regular checkout Line. I like self-checkout better because I can get in and out quickly and not have to socialize if I don’t want to no pressure, I hate waiting for long periods in long lines but if it isn’t too long I will wait there. Sometimes I go to Kroger’s by myself and Walmart or sometimes I go with my mom and help her out at the store. But when I go with my mom, we usually shop at Walmart the scooters at Kroger’s are all beat up and crappy and not as many my mom likes Walmart’s scooters better.
You didn’t list my favorite way of getting groceries: curbside pickup. You order the groceries you want online and then you drive to the store to pick them up. You just wait in your car and the paid shoppers do all the shopping and come out and load it in your car. I like it because it’s a free service. Walmart, Safeway and Lucky all have this.
Incidentally, some fast food joints have curbside pickup too.
I used to do curbside pickup, but have been getting them delivered lately. Walmart plus subscription is half off if you’re low income. So I pay around $7 a month for free delivery. I only get groceries 2-3 times a month to save money on driver tips. I park kinda far away from my apartment as well so it’s nice to have them dropped off on my doorstep.
I used to get delivery in the winter when I had a motorcycle with a carrier on the back. I got the motorcycle while in psychosis so I could ride into the sunset to get away from it all (that didn’t work)
I have a car now and go shopping in the wee hours
