Noticing at the age of two that my parents were mentally disabled, I didn’t know enough to take care of myself but was always trying to. To this day, I do stupid stuff and get into trouble because I don’t know how to deal with the most basic problems of living and getting along with others. I am so grateful my provider has a gentle hand.

Yes, and a child’s mind is not equipped to be a parent.
