Alternate Guitar Tunings

Made some cool alternate tunings when i was manic. They actually sound pretty sweet, they were based off of open tunings.

I was just obsessing over these harmonic and inverted sounds so i kept using chatgpt to help me make different tunings

I have pretty heavy strings on my guitar but you could use the same tuning up a step.

This one makes it easy to harmonize strings with just barring the strings.

A E A Db A Db

If you tuned up a couple steps then its

D A D Gb D Gb

Then i like

Open A major (tuned down from open c basically)

And open A minor and open Bb (A#) minor for black metal.

A E A C E A (open A minor)

A E A Dd E A (open A major)

Bb F Bb Db F Bb (open A# minor)

Bb F Bb Db Gb Bb (open A# major)

I told @labratmat that it would be cool if he experimented with alternate tunings. I think it’s easier to make them sound good.

I payed with an old hippie that kept a 6 string tuned “double dulcimer “
E,B,E,E,B,E the middle Es are the same note with provides a fit of detune. Tuning down to D, D.A,D,D,A,D works as well and won’t risk breaking your D string.

I only tune down my e string for d tuning on some songs…I’m old school though…don’t know any newfangled tuning tricks…sorry.
