Do you feel like your family just doesnt understand what your going thru with sz?
My wife keeps forgetting I have the illness. My masking skills are advanced to the point where they’re automatic and I regularly food my own spouse. Until I pass the point where I’m so sick I can’t mask and then ain’t nobody foolin’ anybody.

I don’t expect them to understand it, even I don’t understand it. I don’t even bring up the neighbors anymore who are my number one delusion, when I talk to my older sister we mainly talk about work, her life and politics, we don’t discuss any schizophrenia related matters. When I go over to my other sisters house for dinner we eat and play games, I don’t discuss schizophrenia with her either. Once or twice a year they may acknowledge I have an illness that makes life hard but that’s about it,

The only time i discuss the sza with family or friends is when I’m having symptoms that may require a hospitalization. Otherwise i just talk about normal day to day gossip.

I don’t think my Dad nor his girlfriend can fathom or even innerstand that I’m Schizoprhenic. Which is fine. I don’t think they’ll ever innerstand. My friends are enough anyways.
