This girl in my IOP, I thought she was Haitian but turns out she’s Liberian. Both countries speak Creole so it makes sense I would confuse the two. But at first she pay no mind to me. But as time goes on she saw I had a great admiration for culture and I had some background knowledge too that started conversation. And now she shows great interest in me. It was cool being able to start conversation about culture with her.

It takes a little effort to study the cultures other than one’s own. Also it needs to be very open minded. I started to study western philosophy long ago when I was a university student. Very excited at that time yet with little understanding. This study never ends until my dying day.

I lived in a different culture. Sure it was a change of english speaking countries but you’d be surprised by how different everything can be!
That is what makes travel great if you can do it. Dealing with other humans can be a very, very interesting thing and something great for personal growth! I’m glad you can appreciate it! All humans are social animals. Some more so than others!
