Additional moderators

@SzAdmin it seems we are running low on moderators, and the site is suffering. You are rarely around @BarbieBF seems to have gone, @Malvok is gone. This leaves a lot of stress on @shutterbug. This may seem like a strange proposition, but, I think that @darksith would make a wonderful moderator. He is here frequently, is impartial, kind, and very honest. If not @darksith, than someone!

I would have offered to moderate, but I’m afraid that responsibility might suck me back down the rabbit hole again. I’m doing extremely well mentally these days and don’t want to screw it up.

I’m taking a break from this forum as I mentioned yesterday, because I feel completely normal and at ease with myself. I feel staying here among posters who aren’t where they want to or should be, so to speak, will be counter productive to my well being.

No hard feelings towards anyone on this site…just need a break for a while.

Maybe its time to think of paying a few people. Don’t know would that increase the potential legal problems of payed people letting things through. Pixel does a good job and potential moderators don’t have to be schiz either. Don’t think sz here need that hassle.

My Doctors have told me I’d make a good role model for younger patients with Sz…as I’m 49 years old and have maturity and perspective on my side.

But my first concern is my own well being and the care of my wife and young twin daughters. Perhaps some day down the road, I’ll entertain the notion of becoming a guide and/or mentor for others. But for now I’m just trying to stay healthy myself. Perhaps after a few years of solid mental stability, I’ll return to fill the position as advocate for those of you with schizophrenia.

Take care of yourselves!

I’d do it. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

OR …maybe this is a experience we can all benefit from.

My observation is that erring on the side reducing obvious expressions of suicidality and displaced aggression is functional.

But, as opposed to slamming the door shut all the time, we might consider encouraging the sort of soothing (and “attuning,” see http://www.alleydog.com/glossary/definition.php?term=Attunement, http://www.socialskillsplace.com/archive/1109.newsletter.html and http://psychcentral.com/blog/archives/2013/11/25/the-magic-benefits-of-emotional-attunement/) posts @animalchin made yesterday as things ratcheted up.

I realize that not everyone can do this (or do it reliably, myself included), but it appears that there may be enough people involved to provide a sort of buffer zone… especially if those who see the problem start to make a lot of noise about attunement in our posts.

i am very flattered…thank you…but bare in mind, i am a dark lord :imp:
but i do agree @shutterbug does an amazing job…and it must be difficult at times…there are some real nutters :chestnut: on here…lol
i hope @BarbieBF is okay
take care :alien:
p.s i think @SoitGoes would do a fine job… .

The moderators have a lot more power with this new setup.

The old setup was highly moderated and did not have the ability to block a person like this new setup.

There is plenty of freedom with these moderators and I like freedom, I am finding it more challenging than I thought.

You may be exceeding my capabilities with this proposal. I am doing better than other autistics, but I can only push my limits so far, so fast.

Believe me, I understand. I have tended to push my own limits further and faster than I should since was in the seventh grade. And paid for it. And paid for it.

I definitely wasn’t suggesting that any one person try to carry the entire load on attuning when participants slip into sympathetic pitch / fight or flight and act out. (I could have done much better a couple of days ago, myself.)

Just putting out a concept and pointing at the supportive method @animalchin used, which is the most effective I know of at this time. It’s described best in Naomi Feil’s ancient classic The Validation Breakthrough.

Actually, you would make a great mod too, but @SzAdmin isn’t going to pay any attention to this thread.

But of course, I’d return to this site permanently if the Sz Mod looked like this…

He’s away for a bit – that’s why you’re not seeing a response right now. Not a lack of interest on his part, but a lack of access to the forums. He’s usually very good about listening to ideas.
