If you want to , but I don’t feel height is a deal breaker. My partner is 5ft3" and I’m a tiny little bit taller.
Height can be an issue for some people, but others prefer a shorter guy. I had a friend in college who was 4’11 and she refused to date anyone over 5’8 after an awkward experience dating a guy who was 6’2. Things just…didn’t line up correctly. ![]()
I had an issue dating shorter guys for pretty much the same reason, but in reverse.
I think it is very much how @Charles_Foster says. If you act like it is an attribute rather than a flaw, you will go further with it. The short girls will flock to you cuz they are sick of going out in public with guys and getting mistaken for his daughter.
You should put what makes you feel most comfortable. If making a joke makes you feel good, do it. Men that can tell a good joke are fun to be around. Especially men that can laugh at their situation without making it depreciating.
Women like guys that are confident, no matter what their height. I don’t mean arrogant you can be comfortable in your skin and we can tell
The thing about confidence is sort of like this:
Women over the age of like 25 have usually had a bad relationship where the main takeaway for them is “Geez, this guy’s entire self esteem and confidence hinged directly on me constantly reassuring him, and I felt more like a therapist than a partner. The relationship failed because he was so insecure that I felt I could never bring up problems, so I let them build until I finally exploded. In the future, I want to find a guy who is comfortable with the idea that he will occasionally fail at things and be wrong, and who can talk about serious things without immediately catastrophizing.”
And thus, they start looking for guys who are okay with who they are, who don’t look to them for approval.
I like this idea a lot. But seriously, who wants to date a woman caught up on such trivial things
That’s not a relationship…it’s a ventriloquist act! lol!
Anyhoo…to the OP…5’6 isn’t that short. Most gals are shorter than that.
My bumble profile says I have schizophrenia, lol
I’ve probably rewritten my profile 20 times. I’m never happy with it.
I am 5ft10 so not really short but I am obese, too fat at 306lb, bald too.
I see lots of shorter guys with women so i think its just a confidence thing.
You just do you homie and dont worry about height
Bunch of great replies on here, thanks everyone!
The coolest kid in my neighborhood was in my class in sixth grade. He was about the coolest kid in school and he was about 8 inches shorter than me. In fact he was shorter than most kids but man, the girls loved him and he always had a girlfriend and his girlfriends were usually very cute. I’ve known other short guys who were popular with the girls. Height is just one, single aspect of traits that a girl might like. There’s many other traits you can have that will get you a girlfriend. Personality, attitude towards women, being nice, etc. There’s many other things that women find desirable besides height. Like I said before, there’s plenty of short guys who are hooking up all the time, everywhere. Some guys don’t let their height stop them from getting what they want.
Well said @77nick77
I 've dated women taller than me…it can be a turn on for me anyways.
I like Mr Average
Mr Average is sensible & dependable
Has adequate looks & charm

Just made my bio “i’m 5’6, if thats too short for you i respect that, women are allowed to have preferences just like men. Now if its not a problem for you, let me buy you lunch?”
My two cents is I wouldn’t mention “too short” or “women are allowed preferences” or “if it’s not a problem for you”. There’s unlimited other combinations of words you can say but I wouldn’t say those.
It’s totally your call, but from the outside looking in that gives off insecure vibes.
If you want to mention your height say something like, “Im 5 foot 6, that makes me three inches taller than wolverine. I’m also three times as badass.” Just spit balling, but you let your height be known without sounding defensive.
I really like it ![]()
