A poem on eating disorders

Eating and Eating Disorders (ORTHOREXIA)ETC

Hundreds of diets exist
Is one of them better?
I don’t think so
(Each human has equal value)
As do our individual needs
Living life at different angles
U may like crisps, me seeds
Each with their own story
Imagine if we were all the same
How gory

So just eat that meal
Because what we feel we need
Is real
Unless u are in an extreme situation
I hope then time will heal

I don’t like sweets
I prefer beets
I care too much about my glow
I don’t even eat pure coco:
(…caffeine)
But there’s other ways to glow
(There’s other needs)
That people seem to know
Which I myself
Don’t know
It’s a mystery to me
Like the end of a rainbow

Perhaps
I can discover these other needs
(Not just fruits and nuts and seeds)
It takes trial and error
A life long journey
To become rarer
Since my mind’s illness
Turned me into a comparer.
