basking in the brightness
of a midday autumn sun
i sit and contemplate
the changing of a season
taking place all around
me, leaves changing and
falling and laying scattered
across the lawn below,
a surrendering, a changing
of the guard as days
grow shorter and nights
longer in the cycle
of life and death,
another year getting
ready for bed, waiting
for winter to come tuck it in
I’ve read some but never gone out of my way to really study him. I like what i’ve read of his. I keep a pocket size notebook and write whenever the mood strikes me. I see it as capturing a moment in words the same way you would capture a photograph. That’s what i try to do, at least. Thanks, @Daze.
an unfortunate turn of
fate, i find myself in
the dentist’s chair, at
the mercy of a man who
may or may not have
my best interests at heart,
the worst case scenario,
how i have dreaded this day
and put it off for so
long and yet here i am
and it’s all rushing in
on me, the reality
of needing a tooth
drilled and filled and
the knowledge of it all
is just about to kill me
