Yes, SZA mixed type includes mania, depression and schizophrenia
But I thought that SZA bipolar type was the same?
Ugh… yes very confusing
Oh well, this is my current diagnosis

There’s a lot out there on sza. Some call it the same, some say two types and some say three types. But that coding site for doctors lists it as the same.
Thanks for the help. I appreciate it.
Like I said, my doctor doesn’t differentiate between the bipolar and mixed types.
Wikipedia list 3 different types of SZA
Bipolar, depressive and mixed
Honestly, it’s confusing. The more I look up the more I think no one has any clue about sza professionally.
@Wave, two moderators on your thread.
Wow.

I’ve been caught talking to the other moderators just for fun every now and again. Lol
Well thanks @anon55031185 and @anon4362788
I just think you should know that SZA bipolar and Bipolar disorder are two different things. The definition of SZA bipolar is that you have the mania and depression, as well as hallucinations and delusions common in schizophrenia that are triggered apart from the bipolar aspect.
There are different types of Bipolar disorders, but you have that if you do not have hallucinations and delusions with it. The only thing I can’t figure out is the difference between SZA bipolar and SZA mixed type.
I read in one place that sza bipolar was also referred to as manic sza.
It’s ridiculous.
I think the confusion is that a mixed episode is part of bipolar, so calling it sza mixed is just saying sza bipolar with mixed episodes?
Yeah, Wikipedia lists SZA bipolar definition as experiencing only mania and schizophrenia and no depression. I’m confused by that. I thought it was simply called SZA mania.
It doesn’t make sense. Bipolar is manic and depression. Why the heck call something bipolar if it isn’t
Agreed, that’s why I’m scratching my head over this.
On .gov sites they say there’s 2 types of sza, not 3.
It might be dependent on country.
Honestly I rarely heard of the mixed type SZA
I mean it’s a little confusing because you can’t have schizophrenia AND bipolar. It has to be SZA bipolar type. So maybe they are dropping the SZA bipolar label and calling it SZA mixed type, so people don’t confuse standard Bipolar disorders with SZA bipolar.
Yeah let’s hear from @firemonkey
That was the diagnosis I had prior to being switched to a personality disorder dx.My current pdoc switched me to schizophrenia then to schizoaffective then back to schizophrenia. On a medication list schizoaffective mixed type is listed as the indication for being on kemadrin.
.
The most severe type of schizoaffective disorders is the schizoaffective mixed type.
I’m confused @firemonkey
Are mixed episodes required to obtain a SZA mixed type diagnosis?
Is this why it’s called mixed type?
