A day to mourn - a poem

What is grief
But a myriad of
Broken words
Bound by
Tears and heartbreak
Words that
Rip the inside
Of my soul
Leave me
Hollow
Shattered
Picking up pieces
Deep in my belly
Hot and aching
Putting my hands
Over my ears
To block out
The sound trapped inside
My head
My fingers
Slightly spread
Letting out the words
One by one
And the grief
Tumbles on the floor
To be crushed
To release the window
And mourn

I have mourned my fair share of things in my life and this captures it well.
