A friend of mine, going on 40, is 6 weeks pregnant. She’s super worried about possible mutations in the foetus and will undergo a whole battery of tests. She has a 1 yo niece with some obscure malformation (I can’t remember what it’s called) that can be life-threatening, although not always. Besides, she’s a doctor and knows quite a bit about misc. illnesses.
