If 50% is the border between tolerating abilify and not tolerating it, I would be at 49%. I’m taking l-theanine but it’s losing its effectiveness. The anxiety from abilify is getting to me.
It took me 6 months to come off benzos and I’ve been off them for 2 months.
The only thing that keeps me going is thinking about iti-007.
Just a vent really.
I hate the med related anxiety. It is too bad. I have took abilify for three years and i dont like it. It’s causing a lot of damage to me. I cahanged med two years ago and the med is much milder right now. I wish you could find a med with more tolerable side effects. No anxiety please.
The anxiety has returned to bearable levels now. I guess the l-theanine kicked in. What a horrible way to start the day though.

Benzodiazapines have such a bad reputation.
Sure, if you are prone towards drug and alcohol addiction, you should consider an alternative treatment for Anxiety - Stay away from potentially addictive meds like Benzos.
Really, if you are prone towards any kind of severe Anxiety like myself, Benzos like Klonopin are almost necessary.
Benzos like Klonopin can help with the Agitation and Akathisia that powerful Antipsychotics can trigger.
I am using extra Klonopin lately to help with the awful Agitation I’m getting from the Risperdal Withdrawals - it’s helping me calm down enough so I can sleep a bit.
Certain Benzos also make pretty good mood stabilizers - they also act as anticonvulsants.
Klonopin is very good at bringing down my Hypomanias.
The whole key with Benzos is not to take it everyday - just taking it on as a Needed basis is the smartest thing to do, this way you avoid tolerance and addiction.
Too many people don’t take Benzos as they are prescribed to them.
Benzo Withdrawal is worse than Antipsychotic Withdrawal - this is another reason for their bad reputation.
Ativan is anther good Benzo.
@everhopeful, I always want to wish you the strength to get through these tough times, but you already have it in you. It seems redundant to mention it.
You’re a great person and you always seem to make the right choices. I admire you for your courage and determination.
I do hope you start to feel better soon, or the new drug gets released soon, or L-Theanine starts to work again for you.
Hang in there @everhopeful hopefully the L - Theanine starts working again - If you can manage without Benzos it’s better for you in the long run.
