Yeah, confusing something like net worth with wisdom is a common mistake made since ancient times. I think that humanity’s very genes have the tendency toward that mistake built in, at this point.

The only thing that makes sense to me about spending millions on expensive art is it’s an investment. If you know it’s gonna appreciate it and you can sell it for more later.

Lol yup. Let’s be clear the banana and the duct tape are worth 58 cents. The 6.2 mill which probably cost 10,000 people their lives to accrue through modern day slavery etc… that value went to complete waste :upside_down_face:

It does make you wonder why the rich purchaser didnt just donate the money to a good cause, rather than buy the banana.

It sometimes seems like wealthy people are almost thumbing their noses at regular people.
