My Uncle’s friend passed away and left his stuff to him.
My Uncle gave this box to me. It has a half dollar Kennedy coin…a Seiko watch…and this gold Free Mason ring which I am now wearing.
It’s quite a sharp-looking ring!

My daughter is hand modeling the ring for me.
I googled a bit about these rings. It might be worth a couple grand…but I won’t sell it. I like old stuff.
I keep getting emails from a so-called grand lodge (of England?), asking for money lol. They always start the message with “Dear Brother”…
I think that The Free Mason society was so secret back in the day, that even it’s own members didn’t know what they were all meeting about. lol!
But I like the fact that the ring symbolizes ‘charity’ and ‘integrity’ from what I googled.
You have very pretty fingernails Patrick
I used to rent a space on the main floor of a Masonic Lodge for my PC repair biz. Some evenings I would hear their meetings after hours while working late. Sounded like an elderly Presbyterian church worship. Boring, IOW.
It was pretty big back in the day, my dad was a member but he got kicked out for questioning where certain money was allocated, sounds a bit silly,
My gran and Aunt were in the female equivalent, they had parties and everything in the hall and sold alcohol cheap, it closed down now, it has a severe lack of membership now.
Asking questions is the best way to accidentally find the exit to any religion. Lollllll.
it wasn’t really a religion as far as i am aware, more like a secret society of like minded people.
I don’t agree with you but it can sometimes happen, its more the answers that people don’t like mostly lol,
Questioning things is good as is keeping an open mind.
It has a religious aspect.
That’s a really cool ring, @Patrick .
I’ve had lots of family that were in Freemasonry and the Eastern Star.
I don’t think I’d ever join them but I like some of their ideas and what they stand for.
There’s also lots of Freemasons in the Air Force. A fellow airman who was a Freemason was once telling me a little bit about them in a class I took off base a long time ago.
To be honest, I think it might just be an old school ring. The logo is off-center, and not quite a ‘G’ in the middle. Something tells me it probably is not a Mason ring.
But it is 14k gold, and I’ll continue to wear it. I won’t sell it.
I’d like to see the watch. It could be something special. Maybe I could identify it for you.
My dad was in the Air Force. Stationed in California. He was in during the Vietnam war. He was had something to do with communications. And it was top-secret. He never saw the battlefield. He just worked behind a desk.
Why not have it appraised just to see if it is an authentic ring?
Oh that’s awesome. Thank him for his service for me, please.
Yeah I can’t remember where I heard this but I heard when a lot of people were drafted during the Vietnam War they would often try getting into the Air Force if they had good enough grades and/or were in college.
My dad joined the Air Force to get her away from my mom’s parents. They live on the East Coast and my dad’s Air Force was stationed on the West Coast
I valued the Seiko from the writing on the back face of the watch. It’s worth 50-200 bucks I think.
