This is the most depressing day out of all of them

German cheese cake with quarg .

I think it is still my favourite cake.

My first language was German and a man there had a cafe with his parents and they made this amazing cake.

My mum used to make it but lost the recipe.

Valentine is a beautiful day for the people in relationships. I hope my husband would take me out for dinner on that day although I know he wouldn’t. He would say " I’m too old for valentine day". Okay, in that case I only expect him to be with me for a nice dinner at home and then go out for a walk… My husband used to buy me a red rose on Valentine day when we were young.

Good idea! Germany is the most beautifull country in Europe.

I won’t be doing anything special, it’s just another day for me.
I don’t have a significant other, and I’m wanting to less and less.

Me and my valentine will be far apart  but at least I have someone to be my valentine this year :gift_heart:

I will be counting the money I saved from never participating in this event and try to live with the consequences.

I think buying roses for a woman is money well spent. You’re investing in the relationship.

I don’t know what to do for my husband for Valentine’s Day. Every year, he buys me one of these. He is awful to shop for. For example, for Christmas, I researched video games and got him one I thought he’d like- story line, shooting action, limited profanity but just enough to make it adultish, high praise from the gaming community. He hasn’t even bothered to open it from the plastic wrapping to try it. He’s like this with everything I buy him. If I ask him what he wants, though, he says nothing. I’d like to get him something if he’s getting me something. He gives me nothing to go on. Just taking him out to eat and to a movie seems like I’m doing it for myself, too. Is that enough? Ideas?

@Happy_Heather Usually the man buys the woman something for Valentine’s Day. Perhaps cook his favorite meal?

That would be steaks on the grill, but I can’t use the grill right now anyways. It’s covered in snow! His second favorite meal would be beef fajitas… on the grill. Ugh!

If your husband knows that the grill is covered in snow and you made the effort to cook him steak. He may be impressed that you made the effort to cook him that meal besides all the difficulty to do so.

But how in the world do you start a charcoal grill in the snow?

Very good question but I think another forum would be the best place to search for your answer.

Maybe you can buy him an experience instad of an item. Like driving a sports car on ice or romantic dinner for two.

I check a site called groupon for stuff like this.
