Worried about eye exam

I have my yearly eye exam tomorrow. Its through a new doctor in town. I’m worried because for the last three years I’ve had ocular hypertension meaning the pressure was high in my eyes. They said last year since it’s been that way for three years I was then glaucoma suspect. That ■■■■ is scary. My mom has glaucoma she is legally blind.

I was 45 years old when they diagnosed that I had glaucoma. There is not much what one can do except put eye drops (I have two kinds of eye drops to lower my eye pressure). I went to a laser surgery to reduce the eye pressure and I need to see a eye doctor every year, in the last examination my eye sight in my left eye had worsened. However it is good they diagnosed this glaucoma before it got real bad.

I just got done with the eye exam. Believe it or not the pressure in my eyes have gone down. They said if its higher than 22 it’s a cause for concern but my eyes were at 19. They checked my optic nerves look healthy. The doctor said for now my eyes look ok but because of my mom having glaucoma there is a high chance of getting it so check back every year or if my eye pain becomes worse

This is good news @cbbrown!
I have to go see my Opthalmologist every year because of a history of Glaucoma in my family.
