Work and sz/sza

I do a combination of sysadmin and desktop support. I can only manage maybe 15 hours a week, but my employer is understanding as I have disclosed my illness with them. I’ve also been working there 10+ years.

I believe that after my studies I will go to work to either library or a bookstore!

I dreamt of being a writer… (not in EN) but I believe that’s part of my delusional thinking. (I thought sometime ago it’s my destiny)

Also thought about being a teacher after studies. But being a teacher is sooo stressfull  So yeah! Bookstores and libraries rocks ^^

Mine got locally pulled when I got sick but I never lost it. I had a top secret.

I got another secret a few years later with no problem. But now they are only good for five years instead of ten like they used to be.

I had TS/SCI, I think it would be difficult to get that again with SZ.

Yeah. I had a TS/SCI also. I didn’t try for that just a secret.

@WhiteRaven Ok I see, thanks

I am not great at self-employment, either. My wife keeps telling me how much we could make with my “talent stack” if we ran our own business. Except she wants me to run the business side. An ongoing source of minor conflict.

@Pat6398 Do you have sz or sza?

Hi @Roman, I have sz.

@Pat6398 Yea I wanted to get into IT, but I couldn’t find any part time jobs. The jobs I got were all full time

I work in admin currently

I clean up part of a clinic Mondays to Saturdays. It’s not bad except the double shift one; Still adapting there.

I don’t blame her! Running the business side in itself is another job…

Remember when I was working 8-5pm, then 5-8pm visiting people to do quotes - and on top of that, working to midnight many days trying to do costings for the new jobs

If it wasn’t for those long hours I would have been fine…

Was told to make some hires, but in the end I had to pull the plug on it

Pretty much sunk my ability to work for nearly a year in the end

Don’t really think there was much else I could have done differently…

I have sza (I’m assuming that means schizoaffective disorder). I don’t work currently, but am a full time student and will eventually work in publicity. I live in Los Angeles and also write fiction on the side.

Welcome to the forum!

Cool. I have an interview this week for a job in LA. Well actually they said you can live in LA, OC or San Diego. I lived in OC and San Diego for 10 years. It pays well but not really well for LA. I probably wouldn’t move but it’s a good opportunity. It’s in the construction industry but they say you don’t need construction experience.

They are looking for veterans with combat arms experience. I used to be a pilot. The headhunter thinks I would be a really good fit.
