Why are "delivered" pizzas so much better than oven pizzas?

I’ve just stuck a frozen pizza in the oven. I wish I could say that I was looking forward to eating it. It’s 2019. You’d think frozen pizza technology would have moved on to at least be in the same ballpark as delivered pizza.

But no. It hasn’t.

I think it’s the fresh never been frozen and natural toppings that makes pizza taste better.

Fresh > frozen

Although I would argue the best pizza is homemade with homemade dough, but that takes quiet a bit more effort.

A problem with oven pizza ,as opposed to pizza that’s delivered, is cutting it into slices .

Maybe its cause they alter the ingredients in the dough etc to make it more shelf stable and last longer in grocery stores. Maybe freezing also ruins the consistency and makes it less airy cause its not freshly kneaded.

Do you cut them in squares or slices? I like squares because I feel like I’m not eating too much even though I’m cramming like nine squares in my mouth.

The pizza I get frozen is tasty and I eat it 1-2x per week, but I lived in nyc where the pizza is amazing, and nothing compares.

The main difference is the dough. I can buy pizza dough put fresh ingredients on it and cook it in a cast iron pan in the oven and it comes out great.

But a real pizza shop where the dough is fresh and they use a professional oven is the best
