I’ve been checking. Today I have done it a few more times because it seems it’s too high. Here are my readings.
Monday Jan 6th. 109/97
Wednesday Jan 8th 117/85
Monday Jan 13th 138/121
Monday Jan 13th 135/97
Monday Jan 13th. 137/94
Monday Jan 13th 132/105
Monday Jan 13th. That’s high, you need to see a doc about it, likely get meds for it.
Yeah, those all seem high/borderline high. Were you resting for several minutes before taking those readings?
Does propanalol help with blood pressure ?
I was relaxing with all of them
Not sure what that is
Yeah, you should probably email or call your doctor and let them know they’ve been running a bit high. Is this a change from how they normally are? Or have they been like this for awhile?
I was too low for awhile. Pretty sure it was the lithium and now that I’m off its higher
I would probably email. But depending how long you’ve been off the lithium I might give it a little more time to see if it regulates a bit.
My blood pressure is around the same as yours. Its kind of high
I’ve been off more than a month. But I’m taking zoloft and apparently from what I just read antidepressants can cause high blood pressure.
Given that, I would probably email if that’s an option.
You should take a reading twice a day for a week and then average it for a true reading.
You keep having episdoes of chest pain and shortness of breath that mean you are in a higher risk category than others. It could be related to the stress of quitting smoking, but it’s important to consult a doctor or nurse about it because of your risk status.
- 90 over 60 (90/60) or less: You may have low blood pressure. More on low blood pressure.
- More than 90 over 60 (90/60) and less than 120 over 80 (120/80): Your blood pressure reading is ideal and healthy. Follow a healthy lifestyle to keep it at this level.
- More than 120 over 80 and less than 140 over 90 (120/80-140/90): You have a normal blood pressure reading but it is a little higher than it should be, and you should try to lower it. Make healthy changes to your lifestyle.
- 140 over 90 (140/90) or higher (over a number of weeks): You may have high blood pressure (hypertension). Change your lifestyle - see your doctor or nurse and take any medicines they may give you. More on high blood pressure
So:
- if your top number is 140 or more - then you may have high blood pressure, regardless of your bottom number.
- if your bottom number is 90 or more - then you may have high blood pressure, regardless your top number.
- if your top number is 90 or less - then you may have low blood pressure, regardless of your bottom number.
- if your bottom number is 60 or less - then you may have low blood pressure, regardless of your top number.

I would let your family doctor know.
138 is a bit high.
Mine runs in the 140s with 2 different blood pressure meds.
Go to the doctor, it’s a simple test, it takes about 3 minutes. If it’s high he/she will treat you for it. I don’t know much about it except that too much sodium in your diet can raise your blood pressure.
would want to know your diet the night before, the morning of. Your fluid intake. Even just the TV programs you watched, or internet you read
There are lots of factors that could account for a day or so raise.
Do you suffer anxiety disorder? An anxious day can cause it.
Other previous days have been in a great range, I think you thinking about it being up and worried about it doesn’t help.
I would have a nurse check it manually. I dont trust those machines.
Any time your diastolic (lower number), is over 90, you should be concerned. Anytime your systolic (higher number), is over 140, you should be concerned. Actually, 140 or higher, and 90 or higher are the danger levels.
