hmm…don’t think I’ve ever had a “worse” Christmas gift, I guess when I got some socks I was disappointed once. My “best” Christmas gift was when I got a banjo around the age of 12.
I always got creamed in golden eye. I was much better at our star fox tournaments.
I wasn’t the best at golden eye, but wasn’t the worst either. The only game that I remember being significantly better than the other neighborhood kids at was 1080 degrees snowboarding. It’s amazing how many great multiplayer games were on the N64!
Worst present I ever got was a padded toilet seat.
Dolls. All those dolls. I asked for stuffed animals…
I’ve gotten a lot of good gifts. But two of them stand out. When I was 7 years old my dad bought me a slot car set. Those little cars that race on a track. We set it up in the living room and it took up the whole room. my dad let us keep it up for a week after Christmas was over and me and my dad and my sisters all raced each other for hours. I actually would like one of those now. They’re fun.
When I was in 7th grade my dad bought me a barbell set. It was a 110 lb set. I started working out and I was still using that same set when I was a senior in high school. Being strong is fun!
My worst gift actually wasn’t that bad but the circumstances were kind of bad. About ten or 15 years ago I was celebrating Christmas at my step-dad and my moms house and my step-brother who is about my age was there too. That year I really wanted a new stereo . I was living in a board & care home at the time and I didn’t have any stereo to play music. I was on SSDI and there was no way I could afford one for myself.
My step-dad made good money and my mom and him knew that I owned next to nothing. I was sure they would buy one for me and I anticipated it eagerly. Well, we ate a nice Christmas brunch and then we all exchanged gifts. When it came time for me to open a gift I got a book on the Beatles. Now I love the Beatles so that was cool.
Then my step[brother started opening his gifts. He was getting many great gifts while I sat there biding my time, not getting anymore gifts. I thought thy were playing a game with me by making me wait for my stereo. Everybody opened several gifts and pretty soon there was no more under the tree, I thought, 'This is it. They made me wait and now it’s coming". but my mom said, “That’s it”. I was astounded, And to tell you truth, my feelings were hurt badly. I still to this day don’t know why they gave my step-brother so much and I just got a book.
Were the slot cars made by Hot Wheels? just wondered.
My mother was autistic. I got clothes and boxes of cereal. Really. I like getting electronics. If people don’t know what electronics to give me a gift card that lets me buy my own is awesome. Or I could just buy my own present and you could buy yours. Incidentally, I hate Christmas and can’t wait until the sodding thing is past. Unless I get electronics, in which case I’ll like it for a day. Maybe.
Pixel.
No, not Hot wheels, though I did have a lot Hot wheel cars too. When I got a slot car set in sixth grade it was Tyco. I think another brand is AMX or something like that.
