If you go inpatient be prepared that it’s like prison but take advantage of correcting the rut you might be in.
I point blank refused to go in. I don’t see the point really
If you are currently in treatment, there is no point in going to the hospital unless you are a threat to yourself or others. They just get you to a semi-stable state and send you back to get treated by your psychiatrist. At least, that’s what they do in the US.
When Staff Turns to Staph, Schizophrenia in the Workplace…
NEVER DISCLOSE A DIAGNOSIS. I would just change the subject if asked by coworkers. It is not worth dealing with the stigma… You can talk to management about any accommodations you will need, changes to your work environment to get the job done. You could ask for DR note to get same schedule all the time or shorter shifts (this could affect your desirability to your employer). Insomnia can be a problem for some schizo, so same hours all the time really help out. Seroquel is nice drug choice for sleep problems. If taken at bedtime, cut into pieces, you will sleep like a baby.
Ive seen that show-it was pretty good. I don’t know why they cancelled it after one season. You barely see anything related to mental illness on tv-unless its negative
I wouldn’t disclose my diagnosis in the workplace-especially if I was working as a nurse. Im in nursing school right now and have a couple of friends who work in the field-and youre not lying when u say a bunch of females being around each other all day can result in catiness. I hate to have a negative outlook on ppl-but I think majority of them would not be understanding at all and would turn into complete assh-les who try to use your diagnosis against u. Its not worth the stress. Just take care of yourself the best u can-by taking your meds, going to therapy and watching your diet and exercise and keep coworkers out of your personal business
