A snake is just a creature of one of the 12 Chinese Zodiac animals. However, in centuries past in China if a couple were to attempt to conceive a baby in the year of the dragon and conceived too late. The baby would be a snake instead of a dragon.

The Horoscope of Astrology similarly to the Chinese Zodiac is all superstition today but in historic past served its purpose.
