I guess it would be my car or apartment
I have about 30 pairs of shoes and a closet stuffed with clothes
It’s hard to say, ever since I quit drinking and smoking I’ve had so much more money and I’ve been crazy spending it on things just because

One time just walking to a spot we came across a curled up water moccasin. We were putting the tips of our fishing pole in its open mouth. It was perched up looking to strike. I wouldn’t do ■■■■ like that anymore. I’d never try and pick another one up. But yeah water moccasins aren’t shy.

I wouldnt worry about material possessions. I would prioritize getting my dog and two cats out of the house.

I actually thought about this yesterday because suddenly there was heavy smoke in my neighborhood and I wasnt sure where the fire was. It turns out the heavy smoke was blowing in from a distant wildfire due to heavy winds pushing the smoke into the area where I live. So no local fire danger, but it did make me think.

I don’t own much physical stuff that would sell for much.

Stuff that I might run out of the house with if humans and animals were already safe:

I have one bag of stuff that I keep close by me, and 3 “go bags” or “bug out bags” containing items for short term survival.

My bag of “stuff” includes:

  1. My ID.
  2. Multi-tool
  3. A prescription labeled bottle of very low dose Haldol.
  4. Caffeine pills.
  5. Rubber bands for building bird traps out of cardboard boxes.
  6. One copy of my Chemistry flashcards. (Only unclassified material stated explicitly in class, and not dangerous stuff.)
  7. Other stuff

My bug out bags contain many survival items, such as water, rations, knives, water filters, blanket, etc.

Stuff that I might or might not run with in an emergency, but I prize anyway:

  1. Copies of a 1432 line poem I’ve memorized, and wrote almost all of myself, although much of it is based on other published wisdom.

  2. A copy of the Mensa Bulletin that I was published in as a lifetime member, and which had thousands of physical copies distributed around the US.

  3. Some older computers with some data on them.

  4. A few legal and legitimate physical items that don’t have much street value; but, which I value because of my knowledge of chemistry and physics.

  5. Years of tax paperwork in case I accidently tick off bureaucrats some day enough to get audited.

  6. 2 degrees that I’ve earned.

Maybe those are the main physical possessions that I prize, besides my low cost, used car.
