I feel Schizophrenia consumes my identity and really don’t know anymore. I used to think my identity with my interests and job.
Now with reduced interest in everything and no job I’m not much.

My career used to be a major contributor to my identity, but guess what!? No career anymore and I had to think deeper.

No I’m the poor man’s Batman. I have a huge gut and wander around the quad cities in my costume politely asking people to not commit crimes. I don’t want to get beat up or anything. But hey, I’m doing my part.

Identity is what you do,feel and act on and your curiosities as well.
Ever since sz dx my identity shrinked. I had lots of curiosities before sz, but I had to discard most of them.
For some reason I think that lots of people from this forum could go into psychoterapy adviser as part of identity

My identity is I’m a lover of work hard play hard.
It’s a directly proportionate relationship between working hard and playing hard up to a certain point where it then becomes detrimental.
You could plot the relationship on a bell curve shaped graph.

It’s not so much about pacifism as it is I don’t like to bleed and I like my teeth where they are.
Also, not big on running, and I don’t have a car, so the the standard chase before violent confrontation is probably out of the question.

So yeah, outside of Batman, I guess I’m just a son, brother, and uncle to family members. Also a friend. No employment for like 8 or 9 years now since the big first psychotic break , so no work identity. I’m now also a gamer, hopefully eventually I will be a guitar player again. Also a pet owner. And of course, a mod on this forum.

I feel the same as you @Kxev . I think my identity revolves around being schizophrenic.
Outside schizophrenia , I’ve got very little going on.
All my energy seems to be directed towards surviving it day to day.
The only other thing I could pin my identity on is that I have strange spiritual beliefs.

My “shallow” human identity is that I’m schizophrenic.
But my true identity is my personality or nature and vibe and spirit and soul.
My body kindof too I guess.
My identity is not what I do but who I am.
What I do is called something else.
