My favorite and most reliable vehicle that I have ever owned was a 1995 Chevy Silverado. It looked kind of like this pic except more green and more used.:
My second choice would be my white 1995 chevy camaro z28 which looked almost exactly like this one:
I miss my 1978 Gold Special Edition Trans-Am. Pulled out the 400 and dropped in a Pontiac 550 HO. The sucker moved. Traded it in on an '89 Vette that was a real piece of shite.
My favorite car hands-down would be my 1986(?) Subaru GL Hatchback with on-demand hi/low 4WD. You didn’t have to unlock the hubs or anything, you just put it in gear and pulled a lever and BOOM! 4WD. Got about 25mpg too. I would pick up my co-workers with it coz it was a blast in the snow! Looked very similar to the picture. The hatch was cool coz you could fold the two back seats forward for extra room, very handy coz I was playing in bands at the time.
Ive owned two vehicles in my life. One was a 2013ish Subaru Outback which I traded in for 2012 Kia Soul. The Soul was good for driving Uber because it was fun but it wasn’t spacious enough for my large self. The Outback wasn’t either.
I’ve never owned a vehicle I was emotionally attached to.
That things burned a tank of gas just going down the driveway! And I would have to run the heat in the dead of summer to keep the engine cool. But it had a V8 and went fast and looked cool.
I can’t get the picture up but it was my first car, a 1966 Chevy Chevelle Malibu. Like velociraptor said about his car, my first car wasn’t my newest or most expensive or best looking car but it was the car I was most emotionally attached to and the car I have the most good memories about. I got it when I was 17 and I had a lot of good times in that car. Just being able for the first time to just go outside and jump in the car and go anywhere I wanted to, it was great. It was even fun working on it. I used to tune it up myself, change all the spark plugs and adjust the distributor cap. I eventually pulled out the engine with the help of a friend and sold it.
I drove up to Oakland in it in 1979 to see The Rolling Stones in concert. I used to drive over the hill to Santa Cruz occasionally. I made a friend at my second job and he lived one city over and I drove to see him a million times. And people may disapprove, but back then we usually drove with a beer or a joint in our hands. It was a different time. But that’s what I did the most of in it, party.
I only had it about 8 months before it got totaled in a wreck that was the other guys fault. I had bought it for $450.00 but after it was wrecked and it was un-drivable I put an ad in the paper and sold parts off it and made about $350.00 more.
My favorite car was my Honda CRX. It got phenomenal gas milage, and it was really peppy. Not only was it fast. It was quick. When you mashed down on the accelerator you felt its power. One time I drove 150 miles at 85 mph, and it only cost me $3.00 for gas. They quit making them. I was thinking that if they just changed a few lines on it, so it was more stylish, it could have sold like the original Mustangs. Or maybe like the MG. I don’t know. Maybe not.
Oh me too for sure. I was forced to learn on a stick. My dad even let me drive his semi with a trailer hooked on. I tell ya I have a lot of respect for truckers.
