I’m not sure who said it, but:

Vexation is a waste of time, argument is a waste of energy and war is a waste of Flesh

Be and not seem. Ralph Waldo Emerson. It reminds me to have substance and to be honest with what I do.

“No wise man ever wished he was younger” is a quote I like. Don’t know who said it.

The movie came out in 1976 and the speech is still super relevant and inspiring,

Though also depressing.

I like it and it’s always been one of my favorite quotes,

Even though it’s long and more of a “favorite movie scene”, it’s still one person going on a rant so I think it counts.

Glad you like :+1: it !

It’s okay to look back, just don’t stare.

I had to learn this the hard way, it was one of my worst mental habits was looking back and trying to figure out how I could have done things differently. What a waste of time

There is a philosopical momement called Transcendentalism, I like to believe it but im not sure.

A core belief is in the inherent goodness of people and nature. and while society and its institutions have corrupted the purity of the individual people are at their best when truly self-reliant and independent

Adherents believe that individuals are capable of generating completely original insights with little attention and deference to past masters

Norman, it’s not polite to stare.

From Passenger 57 and one of my first sense of good advice from a movie.

My name is not Norman though.

@Tryagain I completely agree with this philosophy. I think people are essentially good at Heart, they just get hurt sometimes, and lost for a while

It doesn’t mean it comes for free. The choice to improve our own character in some way is necessary

I love the story of the Grandfather explaining human nature to his young Grandson.

There are two wolves that live in everyone’s heart. One is Good… It is compassion, respect, kindness and love. This is the White Wolf

And there is also a bad one. This is hatred, arrogance, selfishness and pride. It is the Black Wolf

The Grandson considered this for a time, and then turned to his Grandfather and asked, “Which wolf wins?”

The Grandfather smiled and said simply, The one you feed
