chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes with cream gravy (which goes on the chicken fried steak too), vinegar and bacon green beans, lemon cake for dessert…my grandma’s spread about three times a week…love it…it’s an okie meal.

My husband’s lasagna is amazing. I also love my recipe for Jamaican jerk chicken, Thai vegetable curry, and smoked kielbasa with sauerkraut and potatoes.

Is jerk chicken easy to make? And are there different versions ie Jamaican and what else? Wonder why it’s called jerk? In my local jerk is slang for a**hole (as in a bad person).

It’s very easy. It’s just a marinade. I’m not sure why they call it Jamaican jerk, but regardless, it tastes great!

It’s hard to choose. I guess lasagna, but you have to understand that my husband makes the most loaded thing ever. Ground beef, sliced italian sausage, mushrooms, onions, riccotta mixed with seasonings. It is so big and rich we cannot have it often. It is a special occasion only. Usually my birthday and our anniversary

[Red] chili with beef, beans and onions. I’ve never heard of “white” chili before. Sounds like another gringo perversion of authentic Mexican food, of which there are legion. Frankly, I’m tired of it.

Anyway, chili is my favorite homemade meal. Tacos aren’t far behind.
