What is this forum FOR?

So often we get upset new members yelling about “lack of support”. Mods aren’t supportive yada yada.

The purpose pf this forum is for other sz’s to chat with other sz’s about meds, symptoms, and life. Sometimes giving advice, sometimes just saying " I understand".

We are NOT here to encourage delusions or bad behavior. Insults are banned but calling someone out for bad behavior isn’t. Sz is not an excuse to be a tool.

Moderators are not therapists. Our job is to ensure that the rules are followed, people are not abusing others, and that trolls or spammers don’t get to you.

Moderators make judgement calls. What I will let go,someone else may flag or close and vice versa.

Acting out and publicly having a fit doesn’t make us look at you with a kinder eye. It’s akin to watching a toddler throw a tantrum. You escort the toddler to a quiet place away from everyone.

We are volunteers chosen from members, to you new folks, that means that we were regular old sz members JUST LIKE YOU. We aren’t faceless therapists that have no idea what sz or sza is like. We get it.

So, yeah. If you want intensive therapy type support, that is not available here. You need to find an actual pdoc and therapist. Anyone offering that online for free is probably a scammer and is probably breaking the law anyway.

If you have an issue with something we’ve said or done, the rule is to PM one of us instead of making a public spectacle. Causing a public scene just attracts the wrong kind of attention from us mods.

I’m not the most active member, but I have the impression you guys are doing a great job, and I can imagine you get a lot of things on your plate that you have to deal with. This forum would be better if everyone acted like adults with respect to the forum and fellow members, which most people do thankfully :slightly_smiling_face:

I haven’t got a problem the way the mods moderate this forum. I think they do a good job. My posts can be a bit touch and go sometimes and I totally understand why they’re taken down.

Sometimes, when your not getting thru to someone - you have to be direct, i believe and tell it like it is. And some people dont like it. They think your being nasty.

But as this is a recovery based forum - people have to know that getting better, is actually bloody hard work. It needs alot of self reflection.

Yes, but am I still allowed to flirt with @ThePickinSkunk?

I can’t get enough of his aftershave.

At least I think it’s aftershave.

So sexxxy.

I guess some people get kicks out of seeing how far they can take it with the mods. Sad use of energy. And this new Tor guy didn’t have a clue what he was talking about btw. I have been here long enough to know that.

I actually told my mental health team about this site - so they can pass it on to other schizophrenic clients.

And i like the way it is moderated. It keeps the trash out - even tho ive been banned a few times lol.

That’s a good idea telling about the site. Maybe I will too. I got banned too for telling a very bad joke. You can tell it’s bad when yourself is the only one thinking it’s funny

I told my community nurse about here as well @Naarai. It’s hugely beneficial to me being here. I’m don’t interact much with people with SZ/SZA outside of here. The people I have met in the community with SZ/SZA are on the more serious end of the spectrum. (smearing shite all over the walls serious)

Yeah its beneficial to me also. I dont know any other schizophrenics around here.

Haha Jesus. Everybody seems to have a personality disorder around here lol.

@Naarai I know more people personal with EUPD than with SZ/SZA.

The smearer moved into my supported living house. My anxiety was that high around that time I had a mental breakdown other than my SZA. The care company only cared about the money and long support hours he got. it was awful. Thankfully he went somewhere that could meet his needs after 9 weeks.

Thanks, you guys. Know that we appreciate you.

I might get grumpy, but I believe in giving someone the same energy they give me.

Also- if you’re someone who suddenly acts out and doesn’t usually, we DO keep that in mind.

Thats the downside of supported housing. Done my fair share of them. You with United Response? They seem to have their pies in the care sector.

No. I can’t say on here who I’m with. That would identify me I think.

Oh of course. Sorry.

I just google United Response. I can just say my company is all about profit and not a charity. They have a bad reputation and very high staff turn over. Although not all bad. We have some wonderful staff here that really care.

@anon4362788 I’m sorry about my behaviour and threads I have/do sometimes, Thank you for not permanently banning me. That would really hurt me.

Yeah, they specialise in mostly Learning Delay down here on the south coast.

I never got on with sharing a house anyway in supported living. Being dictated on how much i can spend on food shopping used to piss me off.
