Europeans listens to nice electronics music while Americans or Canadians listens to boring and slow music. what about streets in Europe vs north America (the pavements), which is cleaner? when i mention to anyone here about Europe they get weirded out. is it an act to make me more confused or are they really different from Europeans? north America is prosperous and wealthy. their women look nice too but they have weird taste in everything. their culture seem to be circled around military or war.
why are north Americans are the way they are? if i get educated in north America will i be able to function in Europe? is the internet opening my eyes to differences between the Atlantic?
You’re dealing in awfully broad generalizations here. Saying “North Americans” are like this is lumping one heck of a lot of people together. I spent two years in Germany in the army, and it seemed to me that the Germans had a stronger sense of social responsibility, which is a very good trait for any society to have. I haven’t seen that from the inside, though, and I don’t know if it contains any bias. One way north americans are very different from a lot of countries is in the issue of personal space. North American males get very uncomfortable if people get too close. There are things I don’t like about my own people, the North Americans, but there are other things I like a lot. I hate the way so many of us feel entitled to litter. I never saw that in Germany. Also, I’ve heard that in Southern Germany they’re pretty much running on renewable energy. I like that. I could go on ad infinitum, but I’ll with the saying, “Different strokes for different folks.”
In Europe we have many nations and many languages and many cultures. People in some nations need to know 3-4 languages, for example in Finland we have two official languages, Finnish and Swedish, and then people must know English and a few other languages such as Russian can be helpful. In America people speak American English and in the southern parts it might be helpful to know Spanish because of all Spanish speaking people these.
Europeans are generally nuanced, Americans generally more Absolute. Both have their advantages. E.g Americans talk more in terms of Good and Evil, where as in Europe its not as simple as that…
The streets in Toronto are much cleaner than those in France. French streets are covered with dog poop. I do understand that certain sections of Toronto are covered with homeless person poop these days, however. Streets in Western Canada are invariably very clean.
If you are educated you should be able to function wherever you land provided you picked a suitable type of education.
I think you’re way over generalizing. People are all different. There are so many cultures and differences in attitudes and beliefs in the US. And we don’t all listen to slow music, not sure where that belief came from. The streets in major cities tend to be dirty while the streets outside major metropolitan areas tend to be cleaner. The US is a melting pot of all different kinds of people.
