The New World is those places colonised by British Portuguese and Spanish, so: the Americas; Australia and New Zealand. I am native to Western Europe, not Australia. Only the Australian Aborigines really belong in Australia.
From my point of view, I see that the Old World and the New World are merging rapidly, the Internet is a good example, I suppose I could be writing my posts in the Internet cafe in Sevilla, Spain that I do not consider the Old World any longer, what about people in Amsterdam, they have also islands somewhere in this world. In Sevilla they have a lot of Islamic influences from the past, nice buildings and so.
What about India, ín my past life I have known many Indians in America, they have also learned a lot from America, then there are Native American Indians, once I slept one week in my auto in Manhattan near Wall Street and the WTC buildings, it was New Amsterdam a few hundred years ago and then English people took over and started calling it New York (a city in the UK), quite frankly I do not see any New or Old Worlds any longer, although still some people in eastern Europe live in the communistic environments. The world is changing as it has always changed.
Truth and events do not change retrospectively. …get to the point man, if you have one.
I did not quite understand you, but I suppose I told already my point of view, you can no longer say that there is an Old or New World, would you consider Paris being a part of the Old World. Just your opinion?
I’m from England
Im going to travel oneday. I want to go to indonesia.
Out like a fox
Dont you live in Australia sheriffF…
Perio
I suppose this Old and New world conversation is pointless, long time ago in the beginning of the 1990s I spent some money in America and purchased a book ‘Managing Cultural Differences’ and I view that there are just different cultures in this world.
Yes, Paris is part of the Old World geographically, most definitely. But culturally the Old World has modernised and cross fertilised with the New World or been corrupted by the New World so that have become more of an amorphous homogeneous glob.
Ah caught out 15

Actually, I would call Germany, Scandinavia, the Netherlands, the UK, North America, Australia and New Zealand all the one group and that is Germanic. The only significant opposition they have are the Russians.
