What are some of your favorite movies (Oct '16)

I love apocalypse movies like I Am Legend, Zombieland, and especially Book of Eli. The graphics, plot, and acting in the latter are some of the best I’ve seen. Denzel is my favorite actor of all time so I’d have to include movies like Equalizer and Training Day.

Here are some more movies I love off the top of my head:

The Passion of Christ
The Pursuit of Happyness
All four Bourne movies
The Invisible

I agree. Harry Potter (the books) had an incredibly positive impact on my childhood but the movies never did it for me.

One thing movies have over books is the flesh and blood-ness of the actors, and sometimes the emotion is easier to detect. Idk

Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium and Lilo and Stitch are my go to movies if I’m feeling depressed. They usually make me cry, then I feel better after.

Halloween
Tucker and Dale vs Evil
Hot Fuzz
The Mummy
Labyrinth
Pan’s Labyrinth

Some movies are moving artwork. My very favorite movie is Lawrence of Arabia. It’s beautiful.

the only book to movie my daughter said was better than the book was The Great Gatsby,

with Leo di’caprio.

Otherwise we just like to see what they did with it.

I use flesh and blood a lot too, like that.

I read Gatbsy in eleventh grade. thought it was a boring premise. never bothered to see the movie.

I never was interested in the rich life. Sorry @san_pedro, just don’t see the value in playing with toys until death

Scott Fitzgerald was not ‘money’ in fact his bread and butter were his short stories he did all his life

to help Zelda in the sanitorium. It was Scribners. Yes, they were a famous couple at one time,
Scott used to go dance with Scottie in public,

and people would say, Hey, that’s Scott Fitzgerald and his daughter.
Lost him too early. I wrote a poem, the last thing that touched Scott Fitzgerald’s lips was chocolate,
that it would be sweet for him…

dead a minute later.

I just watched Suicide Squad and I enjoyed it, despite criticism. I think Harley Quinn was awesome. I want to read the book by Marv Wolfman.

I haven’t seen that. Chinese movie? Have you seen Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon? Another beautiful movie. I cry at the end every time I watch it. :slightly_smiling_face:

I like there will be blood green mile shawshank redemption war dogs hell or high water clockwork orange inglorious besterds I’ve seen lately

Haven’t watched movie in a while but old boy comes to mind.

I liked x-men first class and superman v batman the second half of the movie.

I’ve noticed it is difficult to watch old favorite movies after sz. Everything just looks like they’re having an episode to me. I’m talking fantasy movies like Pan’s Labyrinth, Tron, 6th Sense, Fight Club. I used to love the Last Temptation of Christ and now I just think Jesus is on a bad relapse in that movie. I’ll get over it.

I don’t even know what to do anymore with I’m a Cyborg, But That’s Okay. Has anyone seen that movie? It’s about a girl in a psych ward with a delusion that she is a cyborg and can only gain sustenance from batteries. She’s adorable.

Just go with all Alejandro Gonzales Innaritu movies, if you like magic realism.
