Perhaps of help to some people who have Magellan Healthcare:
CompleteCare Health Network, through a partnership with The Nicholson Foundation, hopes to help many who suffer with mental illnesses in our area, by introducing a web-based, confidential care program from Magellan HealthCare, called Cobalt Therapeutics.
Through the introduction of Magellan’s Cobalt suite of online, cognitive behavioral therapy programs, CompleteCare can help enhance the traditional counseling services currently being offered in their health centers.
“We are excited to introduce the program to CompleteCare patients,” said Jazmine Harris, Interim Chief Medical Officer for CompleteCare Health Network. “Our licensed clinical social workers see this as a way to help more patients receive the help they need. By combining face-to-face meetings with online sessions during the course of care, we hope to see improved health outcomes for our patients.”
Currently, web-based programs are available for patients in the following areas:
• Depression
• Substance Abuse
• Anxiety
• Insomnia
• Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Through the use of the MOODCALMER™ module for depression, more than 50 percent of people felt better and had fewer symptoms of depression. The anxiety program, FearFighter™ has a 63 percent reduction in feelings of fear and panic.
“Cognitive behavioral therapy is a clinical technique used to help patients better understand the thoughts and feelings that lead to potentially problematic behaviors,” said Seth Feuerstein, MD, JD, Chief Innovation Officer at Magellan Healthcare. “Our online programs help integrate behavioral care into primary care in a collaborative care model. They not only support and enhance the delivery of services in underserved areas but also support individuals who may be challenged to find time to repeatedly get to their clinic. These modular programs can be accessed any time, day or night, reducing time away from work and family.”
