I can’t wait until this research proves itself more thoroughly… People refuse to acknowledge that schizophrenia can be treated as more than just a “chemical issue.” It is just as much psychological and neuroplastic…
I mean the fight flight response is engaged nearly constantly and sustained by potentially ever deepening psychotic hallucinations. And you can look into fear… it really doesn’t have a chemical correlation. The amygdala is psychologically trained to filter responses…
Finally all those who resent the challenge of thinking outside the box regarding the treatment of psychosis will have to eat that stubborn blindness they keep clinging to. Most of us… really just need a very comprehensive therapist that can help us find good cognitive functional ground in the midst of our psychoses…
Unfortunately… it’s a natural aspect of human social interactions to not feed the self-centeredness of others… and a lot of psychosis is marked by delusions of self-grandeur… when really it’s a sign of a individual trying to cope with social incompatibility… most of that also correlates with high intelligence and divergent thinking…
So that’s like 3 tiers of presumptuous thinking on my part… but I’ve seen it true in some cases. People really just want to dominate what they are afraid of… A lot of us have done it… psychoses based upon nothing more than why we are better than everyone else.
Pretty shameful… but I know just as many neurotypicals who can’t handle being anything less than the tippy top of the room. We’re just insane at the same time.
So much fundamental ■■■■about human nature, self worth, social hierarchies… self-control… buddha… becomes clear from there.
It is just battling ego complexes in an expensive world with a direction towards individual empowerment becoming more important than communal or familial concern (on the level of individual psychological caterance.)
I’ve said to much here.
I was told my locus coereleus ( can’t spell it) was messed up. I’ve been in the flight or fight response for 6 years. I lived in fear.
