Thought disorder measured as random speech structure classifies negative symptoms and schizophrenia diagnosis 6 months in advance

People tell me I was having some degree of speech disorganization during the early stages of my psychosis. I don’t remember exactly, but in the later stages, just before being put on treatment, my speech was quite eloquent and composed. I also had gained some insight into my illness… I think that even in the absence of medication, the positive symptoms would have eventually subsided completely, over a longer timeframe. And yes, I have strong negative symptoms, so maybe these researchers are on to somehing.

I’m skeptical about labeling primary enduring negative symptoms as “deficit schizophrenia” the same way i’m skeptical when people say they have “paranoid schizophrenia”. Schizophrenia can manifest as many different symptoms i dont believe in limiting it to 5-6 subtypes. A lot of ppl with sz report severe anhedonia, maybe u wont find many of those on this forum. Maybe they should label those with cognitive woes as “cognitive schizophrenia” or something then.
