I’m on Zyprexa and Haldol and I’m wondering how long I have until I might get TD if I continue to take these. I’ve been on APs for about 5 years.
Doing good, hopefully it stays for you. No call.
I think maybe two years, the eye twitching, then restless leg syndrome.
Not sure though.
The last couple of years have been garbled or slow speech, plus automatic sounds out of my mouth
when I don’t want them.
TD is rare but sometimes it does happen. working with your pdoc immediately upon any symptom can prevent it from becoming full blown. I am on an older AP and there is supposed to be a higher risk of TD. like I said, it’s rare. I have been on AP’s almost twenty years…keeping my fingers crossed.
Not till i am an old man hopefully. The a-typicals minimize the risk supposedly, but they havent been around as long to really study it.
Took me 1 month
Are you on a high dose?
I think it’s more common in older women.
I’ve only really seen one person with it in real life and he had it really bad. He was in his 60’s.
I haven’t got it yet. I’ve been on a typical ap for 44 years. My lucky rabbit’s foot is the extra B vitamins I’ve taken since my first psychiatrist told me they might help prevent it. I don’t think there’s any hard evidence though that anything will ward it off.
