Therapy is for “stupid” people

I’ve finally come to the conclusion that psychotherapy is for people who are basically not smart enough to help themselves.
I could be wrong on this but all I know is that I find these therapy sessions I’m getting from my social worker therapist and nurse case manager to be a waste of time, a bunch of hogwash.

Does anyone else besides @Aziz and myself find therapy to be unhelpful?

Therapists are cunning con artists, preying on the vulnerable.

So sad

You have to find the right one and therapy that suits you.
I enjoyed all mine, bar one occupational therapist who was slightly passive aggressive, and had too high expectations/demands of me.

Do you REALLY want to go there?

I liked my most recent psychologist. He stopped seeing me as a patient in person when Covid started.

Maybe I’m being a bit too harsh :joy:
Therapy is not helping me.
Could be personal

I think you either love it or hate it !

Personally I agree with you @Wave

I dunno. I think it’s fine to reach out for help when you’re struggling. That’s not stupid. But I will say, I’ve met a lot of stupid therapists.

Same here.
I realize that this thread could be insulting to other forum members who find therapy helpful.

My intentions were not to hurt others.

I’m the “stupid” one

Yes thanks @everhopeful for understanding

I’m just frustrated with my current therapist who talks to me by phone for no more than 15 minutes and rakes in more than $150 a “session”

Therapy doesn’t help me either unless I throughly prepare for it in advance. If I just wing it, I never really know what to say.
