Is anyone else scared of getting the mail? I know the box is overflowing but i know there will be bad news in there . Just thinking about it makes me nauseated.

I often go a month or two without checking my mailbox. Even when I do bring it into my apartment I typically just set it down and never look through it.

This was such an incredible problem for me. I’d leave it for weeks or longer.
My mail comes directly into my house now, so that eliminates me working up the agency to go get the mail, but we have a big basket right under the slot and we don’t always check it in a timely manner.
It’s mainly never bad news. It’s pretty much all junk. I’ve lost a lot of my anxiety over it, but it still lingers when dealing with phone calls, emails, text messages, pms, people knocking at my door unexpectedly…

I’m okay with mail, but the telephone terrifies me in a way I can’t explain.

I used to think “they” communicated with me through the mail, the internet, magazines and newspapers. It was crazy.
But now it doesn’t bother me much anymore. But lately airlines have been sending me postcards that they are hiring but mostly it just pisses me off but maybe it is “them”

I open letters but don’t really read them.
I have a cupboard in the kitchen full of them. I have only organised this cupboard once in two years.
I will pay more attention to brown envelopes as this is usually government/bollocking letters that probably need reading.
I have tried to automate everything using direct debits to make things easier to manage, so no one should be sending me paper.
