Taylor Swift phenomena

Out of all the stars in music, I am dumbfounded by how very popular Taylor Swift is…my wife started playing her a lot and I find I like her voice a lot…she’s quite talented…but not THAT talented. man, she’s popular…what do you think of Taylor?

I wish I was Taylor Swift.

Funny story: I was at the drug store, at the self service checkout area, and a father was singing Romeo and Juliet while holding his toddler-daughter, as the song played through the store speakers. He was doing it in this girly voice, quite loud, and everyone got a kick out of it. Wow, that made my day, and I smile whenever it pops into my mind.

She has a good singing voice but not much of a fan of her music. Except a few of the old songs

I think she’s pretty good if you like her style of music. I don’t care for the new bbop music

She’s a billionaire now !

Yes! The article said it’s rare for an artist be a billionaire based on just performing and record sales alone. I was just going to say that.

I know, Madonna is older, but she was so popular for the longest time and even she is worth under a billion. I read a little while ago that her net worth is $850 million.

I finally bought tickets to see Madonna in January! Yay!

Madonna has other businesses too. Her net worth isn’t just based on performing and record sales.

Some of her stuff is okay, but not what I would call special. I don’t understand why such a cult has built up around her. She’s no Arethra Franklin.

She’s popular especially among teens and younger girls because she’s young pretty and white.
Apparently this combination is what sells to the masses

I really liked Taylor’s song about depression. I can’t remember the title, but I remember the lyrics, “When my depression works the graveyard shift, all of the people…/” and “Pierced through the heart but never killed.” It makes me wonder if she struggle with the fame sometimes.

I do wonder whether she’d have much of a career if she was a Janis Joplin lookalike.

-Average looking girl sings about being dumped while playing guitar

-World has a ■■■■■■■ meltdown

Honestly, I think our standards have dropped. The Beatles come to mind.

The comparison is beneath us!

That’s right. She’s white.
Imo that’s part of the packaged appeal of her music that it can be seen as a white alternative. Which grosses me out. Clearchannel

Not my type of music.

I know a much much much better singer who is a bascer while Taylor’s a billionaire.

This bascer seems happy but she doesn’t have much money and I think she should have more recognition for her amazing voice that is better than just about all famous musicians i know.

People have different taste and majority have different taste to me i think.

Aretha is LEGEND.

That voice and that attitude. What a package.
